Posted : admin On 28.02.2020Hi, My 1000GB harddisk is split into two partitions of 500GB each. One the first partition I installed WinXP Prof without any issues. Now it want OSX on the 2nd partition (as dual boot system).
I managed to get to the OSX installation screen. When I want to format the second partition with the OSX internal disk utility tool it won't let me do this as everything is greyed-out and appears write protected. The best security designed for mac. Question 1: How can I fix this to install OSX? Question 2: Is it possible at all to install WinXP first and OSX second? Hi, My 1000GB harddisk is split into two partitions of 500GB each. Question 2: Is it possible at all to install WinXP first and OSX second? Click to expand.WinXP has no native AHCI drivers and cannot be installed on an AHCI active SATA connection. You have to install it IDE and enable AHCI first before installing OS X. If you intend to install both OS's on a single HD, then read this post carefully first: Install WinXp as if it were Win7 in the guide. Read the post here: and follow directions to enable AHCI in WinXP, boot into BIOS and make the change to AHCI.
Continue boot into WinXP and install a good security suite. Update your WinXP install to SP3 and install all of you other MS software. Then continue following the dual boot guide to install OS X on your HD.
